Server settings
The prefix for text commands, the language, and the channels where staff replies are shown to everyone.
These settings apply to TalciGrade as a whole in your server, rather than to one module.
Text commands
Every command is a slash command. Most also work as a text command: a message that starts with a prefix, such as .ban @user.
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Text command prefix | What a text command starts with. . by default, up to 5 characters |
| Text commands | Whether text commands work at all. Slash commands always work |
Mentioning the bot works in place of the prefix, whatever the prefix is set to: @TalciGrade ping.
Language
The language TalciGrade uses for what it posts in your server. Only English is available today. More languages are added as their translations are finished.
A member who picks a language for themselves on the website sees it in replies meant only for them, such as a direct message or a reply only they can see.
Staff channels
Some replies to staff commands only matter to the person who ran them, such as a list of ticket bans. In an ordinary channel, only that person sees them, so they do not clutter the conversation.
In a channel you mark as a staff channel, the same replies are posted for everyone there, so the rest of the team sees the answer too.
You can also mark a whole category. Every channel in it then counts as a staff channel, including channels added to the category later.
Replies that should not stay on screen anywhere, such as a link to a ticket transcript, stay private in staff channels as well.
Threads are never staff channels. A reply in a thread stays private, even when the thread is inside a staff channel or a staff category.
You mark them on the Dashboard under General > Staff channels, which takes up to 25 channels and categories in total.
Setting it up
Open General on the Dashboard.
