Reminders

Members set reminders for a time or a date, delivered by direct message or in a channel.

Updated 18 Sep 2026

/remindme set takes a time and what to be reminded about. When it is due, TalciGrade sends the reminder.

Writing the time

Kind Examples
From now in 6 hours, 6h, 1h30m, 2d, 1w
A date and time 24th of May at 12:00, 24 may 12:00, 2026-12-06 @ 18

Dates and times are read in your time zone once you set it, for example /remindme timezone Europe/London. Until then they are read as UTC.

A date written only in numbers, such as 12-06-2026, could be 12 June or 6 December. /remindme dateformat sets which you mean. If you have not set it, your time zone decides, and after that the server's setting.

A reminder can be up to 100 years away, and each member can have up to 25 waiting in a server.

Managing reminders

Command What it does
/remindme list Your waiting reminders, numbered
/remindme cancel <number> Cancels one, by its number in the list
/remindme timezone [zone] Shows or sets your time zone. none clears it
/remindme dateformat Shows or sets how you write numeric dates

Your time zone and date format are yours, and apply in every server.

Where reminders arrive

By default a reminder arrives as a direct message, and only you see the confirmation. A server can deliver reminders in a channel instead.

If your direct messages are closed, the reminder is posted in the channel it was set in, and says it could not be sent privately.

When reminders are delivered in a channel, staff can add a role to ping with a reminder.

Reminders are saved, so one still arrives if TalciGrade restarts before it is due.
