Backups
Periodic snapshots of your roles and channels, and what a restore recovers.
TalciGrade periodically saves a snapshot of your server's structure: its roles and channels, with their names, colours and permissions.
The most recent snapshots are kept.
What a restore does
A restore only recreates what is missing. Nothing that still exists is modified or deleted.
If five channels were deleted, a restore returns those five and leaves the rest of the server untouched.
This is deliberate. A restore that overwrote the current server could turn a small incident into a large one, and it could not be undone.
What a backup does not include
Backups do not include messages. They record the structure of the server, which channels and roles exist and who can access them. Message history cannot be backed up by any bot.
The same restore runs automatically when anti-nuke reverses a channel deletion, using the most recent snapshot.
Setting it up
Open Security > Backups on the Dashboard to create a snapshot, review the existing ones, restore one, or delete one.
Access is limited to the server owner by default and can be granted to others in Permissions.
