Logging

A record of server activity, sent to the channels you choose.

Updated 25 Sep 2026

Logging records what happens in your server into channels you choose.

The module is enabled by default and does nothing until a channel is set.

The four categories

Category Records
Message Messages deleted, edited and bulk deleted
Member Joins, leaves, nickname changes, role changes, timeouts
Server Changes to channels, roles, emojis, webhooks and server settings
Moderation Bans, unbans and kicks

Each category can have its own channel. Any category without one uses your default log channel.

Individual events can be turned off.

Message content

Showing what a message contained before it was deleted or edited requires TalciGrade to have seen it recently.

Roughly the last 30 minutes of messages are retained for this purpose:

  • Recent edits and deletions include the previous content
  • Older ones record the author and channel, and note that the content was not retained
  • Messages from bots are skipped

What an entry shows

Who, where, what changed, and when, then a line, then the ids in small text. The time is shown in your own timezone, and hovering it tells you how long ago it was.

Images from a deleted message appear inside the entry rather than beneath it. Anything that is not an image, such as a video or an archive, appears as a file you can download.

A deleted message is recorded whole, up to 1900 characters. An edit keeps 1500 of each version.

Setting it up

Open Logs > Settings on the Dashboard to choose your channels, and Logs > Events to select which events are recorded.
