Invite tracking

Who invited each member, a leaderboard of inviters, and roles for inviting people.

Updated 24 Sep 2026

When someone joins, TalciGrade works out which invite they used and who created it. Each member's invites add up to a score, which feeds a leaderboard and can earn roles.

How the score is counted

Part What it is
Regular Members they invited who are still in the server
Left Members they invited who have since left. These are taken off
Fake Joins from accounts newer than a set age. These are taken off too
Bonus Invites staff have added or removed by hand

A member's score is their regular invites, minus those who left, minus fake ones, plus any bonus.

The fake-account check is off by default. Set an age, such as 7 days, so brand new accounts do not count.

Some joins use no invite anybody created, and count towards nobody.

A join through your server's custom link is recognised, and /inviter names the link. A bot is recognised too, and /inviter names whoever added it.

A join through Server Discovery cannot be recognised. Discord does not say where a member came from, and unlike the custom link it keeps no count of Discovery joins, so no bot can tell one apart. Where nothing can be attributed, /inviter says so and lists what could explain it on your server: Discovery if your server is listed in it, your custom link if you have one, an invite deleted before TalciGrade could read it, and TalciGrade having been offline or without Manage Server at that moment. A server that is not in Discovery is never offered Discovery as an explanation.

Commands

Command Who can use it What it does
/invites view [member] Everyone A member's score, and how it breaks down
/invites leaderboard [period] Everyone The top inviters: all time, this week or this month
/inviter <member> Manage invites Who invited a member, and when. Only you see the reply
/invites add <member> <amount> Manage invites Adds bonus invites
/invites remove <member> <amount> Manage invites Takes bonus invites away

Counts are public. Who invited whom is shown only to staff granted Manage invites in Permissions.

The weekly and monthly leaderboards count joins in the current week or month, in UTC. Bonus invites count only towards the all-time leaderboard.

Invite rewards

A role can be given automatically when a member's score reaches a number, such as a Recruiter role at 10 invites. This requires Manage Roles, and the role must sit below the TalciGrade role.

Naming the inviter in welcome messages

With Show inviter in welcome on, the welcome message gets a line naming who invited the new member. This needs a welcome channel set on the Welcome & Goodbye page.

What it needs

TalciGrade needs the Manage Server permission to read your server's invites. Without it, joins are recorded with no inviter. Joins that happen while TalciGrade is offline are recorded the same way.
